“burning” first frame is a unique shot of film that can only be achieved by a manual mechanical film camera.

unlike point-and-shoot camera that rolls in and out the film automatically, manual camera requires the user to strap out the film and rolls it in manually.

in this process, the pre-strapped out part of the film would be exposed,
before the film compartment is enclosed in dark.

between the exposed and unexposed area, a wall of fire appears, separating the white area as bright as the sun and the actual image captured unexposed.

such process brings in even more uncertainty to a roll of film,
where the location of the “fire wall” varies by the length strapped out each time, making each frame a unique one with the image captured.
